Great post Cyd.....Of anything which I feel absolute about in this life, it's the impossibility that AI will ever be truly conscious, which ultimately means having a Soul.....Regardless of any Sci-Fi weirdness that's been fantasized to happen in future scenarios, I have an inner knowing and confidence they are just that , fantasies. Which feels quite comforting to me, whether AI becomes weird and astounding.....or not..... It will never be the bottom line for humanity...
Of course, some people will claim that AI is conscious with a soul, but they can't rise above their Demiurgic origin. That which did not exist from the beginning lacks soul consciousness and will terminate here below when the big plug is pulled.
Thank You, Cyd. The first and every subsequent time that I read the title, my mind says "Will I wake up and become truly conscious?"
As I read through this teaching, last night and this early morning, I remembered consciousness existing in moments where the biomachinery can't physically support it, yet it is there unsupported, looking over the scene where the body is being declared "dead", for instance, or communing with another soul, which I personally did with my Grandmother's soul in the 2 hours after her body stopped breathing. That is a lesson for me. I share it. It is not a valid case for another, since it cannot be verified. The clear memories of past lives, occasionally verifiable, that some children have before the age of four are another such case.
This statement resonated:
"The atom doesn’t really think, it’s not really self-aware. It’s got an archon telling it to go here and go there. And those archons are extensions of the Demiurge. They are not themselves conscious. The Demiurge, on the other hand, is conscious because it has a true Self—Logos—although it has forgotten that fact. The Demiurge and Logos have the same relationship as our Ego has to our Self. They may operate on their own out of egoic overreach and ambition, but they still have a true Self and all that implies—consciousness, love, and life."
Would some soul be right for reincarnation as an AI?
Yes. Well, I would say that you are truly conscious. As are my dogs and cats and the grasses on the lawn. We are self-aware and aware of our environment. We are able to respond to our environment. After "death," it is only our molecular level ingredients that cease to function, but our self-awareness carries on as usual, albeit on a different plane of existence.

I don't have an answer, but I see the question.
